Each service below comes with one City of Hollywood permit rule worth knowing before your estimate.
Impact windows that resist wind-borne debris, each shown on Broward’s retrofit window and door schedule. On the Coastal Construction Control Line, east-, north- and south-facing windows need a turtle-glass letter.
Entry, French, sliding and pivot impact doors with their own product approval. Turning a screened porch into an enclosed room counts as an addition in Hollywood, not a door permit.
Wind-load-approved garage doors for one of the widest openings on a house. Broward’s fenestration wind chart lists separate garage door pressures.
Roof repair and full replacement from the same local team. Residential re-roofs are one of four job types in Hollywood’s Express Permitting Service.
Hollywood incorporated on November 28, 1925, and its Broadwalk runs nearly 2.5 miles along the Atlantic on the barrier island. In Hollywood’s four historic districts, from Hollywood Lakes to the Beach Historic District, the city’s checklist asks that window openings keep their size, shape and location; a change goes to historic review. The city’s GIS also lists 21 individually designated historic sites.
Housing here is mixed. The city’s draft Housing Master Plan says 90% of occupied homes were built before 2000, and on the 2025 tax roll it counts 44% of residential properties as single-family, 29% as condominiums and 26% as multi-family. Condo owners also need their association’s approval letter, and we coordinate that approval with you.

Hollywood’s barrier island fronts the Atlantic, and Hollywood Lakes sits east of U.S. 1 around twin lakes on Hollywood Boulevard. The National Hurricane Center’s Wilma report says parts of Broward likely had Category 2 conditions in 2005, and that upper floors of South Florida’s high-rises likely saw stronger winds than at the standard 10-meter height.
Broward is part of Florida’s High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, and Hollywood’s checklist lets homes up to a 30-foot roof height use the Broward fenestration wind load chart, set at 170 mph and Exposure C. Taller buildings need signed and sealed loads, and the chart itself is not for coastal Exposure D sites.
Every window permit carries a floor plan with each opening numbered to match the county’s retrofit schedule, plus each product’s Miami-Dade NOA or Florida Product Approval with its elements circled. An egress window marked on that plan also needs an elevation drawing.
City of Hollywood window and door permits come from the Building Division at 2600 Hollywood Blvd, with no express route. Your mailing city is not always the permit authority, so we confirm by address.
The window and door checklist asks for an HOA or condo association approval letter, if applicable. A city permit does not exempt you from association rules.
We file new permits in Accela Citizen Access, used since August 4, 2026. Historic homes keep each opening’s size, shape and location, or it goes to historic review.
Contracts over $5,000 need a Notice of Commencement recorded with Broward County Records. A pending notice does not hold the permit, but it holds the first inspection.
New permits are booked online, no more than 24 hours ahead; older BCLA permits use the line at 954-921-3646. The permit card must be shown at every inspection.

Your price depends on how many openings you replace, their sizes, and the product series and glass you choose. Each series and glass package is priced on its own, so ask to compare two options at your estimate.
Hollywood sits just north of our Hallandale Beach office, and our Broward service area also takes in Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines and Weston.
Yes, at any job size. Under the state’s 2026 small-project exemption, Hollywood lists windows and doors, roofing, siding and soffits as structural work that needs a permit regardless of cost, and the exemption never applies in a flood hazard area. Replacing a porch screen with impact windows is permitted as an addition.
Yes. Broward is one of the two counties in the zone, and Hollywood’s roofing checklist uses the zone’s uniform roofing application. For windows and doors, the city accepts either a current Miami-Dade NOA or a Florida Product Approval, and we can give you the Florida Product Approval number for each window and door on request.
Three things can apply. The city asks for the condo association’s approval letter with the permit. Buildings over a 30-foot mean roof height need signed and sealed wind loads. On the Coastal Construction Control Line, east-, north- or south-facing openings also need a manufacturer’s turtle-glass letter: the Sea Turtle Ordinance sets visible light transmittance at 45 percent or less, so clear glass does not qualify.
Beyond the products themselves, the estimate depends on the installation scope: removing the old units, any repairs found behind old frames, and the permit and HOA steps your property needs. On a Hollywood re-roof, a roof-to-wall connection affidavit is completed before the final inspection, which can add retrofit work.
Products are made to measure, so manufacturing takes about 6 to 8 weeks depending on the project scope, and installation averages 1 to 2 days. The whole process takes about 3 months from start to finish, though it can vary. Hollywood’s plan review can take up to 30 working days, in date order.
Yes. The estimate is free and there is no obligation. Financing may be available for qualified homeowners through independent third-party providers, including PACE financing where a local program covers your property. Broward’s county-wide PACE program lists impact windows among its qualifying improvements.
