Space outside the wall
A sash must be able to swing through its intended travel without hitting a walkway, enclosure or landscaping. We assess both open and closed positions.
Ventanas resistentes a impactos / Casement
A casement window opens outward on side hinges. USAHI helps you compare suitable models, check the space outside the opening and understand the complete installation scope. Start with the room and how you want to use the window; we assess the opening before the product is finalized.
Discuss your casement windows
A style illustration; the quoted model determines the actual hardware and approved size.
The sash pivots out from one side of the frame. On a crank-operated model, a handle moves the sash and the specified lock secures it when closed. Other operating arrangements exist, so check the actual model rather than assuming every casement has the same handle or lock.
The outward movement can help with ventilation, but it also needs clear space beyond the wall. A nearby walkway, screen enclosure, planting or another sash can limit the useful travel. We assess those conditions with the opening.
Possibly. If the window must serve as an emergency escape opening, the selected model and size must provide the required clear opening and meet the applicable installation conditions. Overall frame size or the word casement does not establish compliance.
No universal clear width applies. The sash position, hinge geometry and hardware can reduce the passage. Compare the measured clear opening for the actual unit, particularly where escape or access requirements matter.
No. Hardware is model-specific. We identify the proposed lock and operating arrangement so you can understand reach, effort and the correct closing sequence.

A countertop or deep sill can affect access to the handle and lock. Discuss the person who will operate the window and any reach or effort concern.
Ask how the chosen model is cleaned and serviced at its installed height. An outward-opening design does not make every exterior surface reachable from indoors.
Posible beneficio: An approved impact-resistant assembly can help protect the closed opening against the conditions covered by its approval.
Qué comprobar: The team checks required wind pressures against the exact model, dimensions, glass and installation. Impact-resistant does not mean hurricane-proof.
Posible beneficio: An operable sash can admit outdoor air when conditions are suitable.
Qué comprobar: Consider the outside swing area, screen arrangement and room requirements. Close and lock the window for storms as the manufacturer directs.
Posible beneficio: Appropriate glass and a sound installation may improve heat or noise concerns.
Qué comprobar: For heat, compare the quoted unit’s energy ratings. For noise, ask for sound-test information if that is a priority; the style alone establishes neither result.
NFRC explains window energy ratings. Impact approval, energy information and sound-test information answer different questions.

Explore las ventanas enrollables horizontalesHardware, alignment or frame condition may be involved. Do not force it. Have the cause identified before deciding that replacement is the only practical solution.
Note when water appears and photograph the area safely from indoors. The window, surrounding seal or wall may be involved; replacing the unit alone may not resolve the entry route.
Discuss whether the concern follows sun exposure, weather or window operation. Glass, seals, the surrounding opening and other building conditions may call for different work.
We price the measured opening, chosen model, glass, finish and surrounding work. Include removal, access, opening repairs, installation, finish restoration and permit responsibilities. A product-only price leaves those items unresolved.
The schedule includes selection, any required approvals, manufacturing and delivery, installation and inspections. Ask for the current plan for your order. A general lead time from another product is not a promised completion date for your project.
